I was in a thrift store today with my grandpa (antique hunter pro), looking at some old CDs that were being sold. Amongst the collection of forgotten backstreet boys, nsync albums, was a SHILOH CD. I couldn't help but giggle to myself, thinking "okay, the other 90s bands are outdated and that's the reason they're here. You're just here cause you have no talent." This caused me to recall her HORRIBLY filmed music video (which apparently one girl from my school was in... I don't know why she told anyone, I would want to keep that a secret) which consisted of literally her, and two asian chicks dancing in the background. You'd think that she'd invest a little more money into her music career.
Speaking of music... I also found a lot of demo tapes from Indie bands. It made me truly realize how weird indie band names are. I wonder what their process of choosing their names are. For the most part, they all follow the same structure:
The + cool noun + s...or if your getting really creative, The + cool noun + ers
Sometimes I think they come up with their names by just putting a bunch of nouns in a hat and drawing from it:
"Got the hat?"
"yup"
*draws*
"hmm.. I have drawn the word black and kids."
"Done. Finito. We got our band name. THE BLACK KIDS. Well I'm glad we got that settled. Meeting adjourned!"
Damn, just about everything sounds good with "the" in front of it and plural or "ers" ending. Even lame names like "the snot pickers" "The Stephaniers" or... "THE FROLICKERS" sound relatively good!
