Finding stuff

"May 11th: Imagine it. The ability to lift something with your mind. The possibility of hearing what other people think. The power to do what you want, when you wanted it. That would be the life. And in turn, that is the question: if you could have any super power, what would it be?"

I misplace things a lot. The cycle goes like this:

1. Lose the THING --- the THING is usually something really important, like my passport before going on a trip, or student ID before a final examination. Phase 1 has really really great timing.

2. Scurry through your room looking for the THING, causing an even greater mess than your room was in before.

3. Frenzy dissipates. Anger ensues, losing any sense of rationality whatsoever. Bring on the self-pity and frustration. "Obviously this would happen. GOD, I wish I were Harry Potter. Then I could just say "ACCIO" and the THING would come to me."

That is the super power I want. (Does this count?)The ability to say ACCIO and lost things would float back to me. And no, I don't even mean this in a metaphorical sense. I don't mean summoning things like "lost soul" or "lost hope" or "lost dignity". This super power is restricted only to the physical.  It's for times when my glasses are just beyond my reach and I'm too lazy to stretch my arm closer to my nightstand. Grocery shopping would be a breeze. If I ever wanted to pick up all the stray cats from the neighbourhood, "ACCIO cats" and within seconds they would be meowing outside my door.  If I were the only person who had this power I could set up a "lost and found" hotline where people would call me to find things that they never could find on their own. I could be hired by so many young folks looking for lost letters, or stand outside Canada's Wonderland helping tweens look for their lost sunglasses, hats or keys. People will quickly start finding out about my unique powers and have dramatic effects on Hollywood, since I will a) be casted on to Heroes, potentially as a sister to the Japanese guy (is that show now cancelled?) or b) drive shows like Without a Trace, Criminal Minds and other shows about missing people straight into the gutter because how outdated and unrealistic they are.

Maybe one day this will come true.
