I heard about these "usueless japanese invetions" today! I really don't think they are that useless... they could make their products a little more appealing to consumers by, I don't know, not involving head gear of sorts or accordian shaped-lion-mane-type products. I'm pretty sure buyers don't like looking like Bender from Futurama either...
