My trip to Umbra

I never thought I would be the type of person who would ever consider buying a rug. They just seem so useless, reserved only for elderly homes or really poorly decorated living rooms, serving no other purpose other than to compliment a collection of miniture cat statues or antique tea sets. But I'm not the same person I was a year ago. So many things have changed. I am going to be living in a real house with my own front lawn and kitchen, I drink chocolate milk without a straw out of sheer laziness, I finished first year, I text people, and I wear leggings as pants. Add to the list: contemplates buying rugs. There are so many reasons why you shouldn't buy a rug:
 1. They make rooms seem a lot smaller than they really are
 2. They are probably ugly
 3. Increased risk of tripping
 4. The world could do with less tassles
5. Added clutter
 6. I am racking my brains for what a rug would really contribute to a room and I can't find a purpose for them. Theyre up there in the useless things to buy to decorate your house, like garden gnomes

I know this. I'm better than this! Yet I saw it lying there screaming "tacky habits of suburbia"! But I loved it. I loved the rustic red colour that made it look kind of dirty even though it was brand new. I even loved the tassels and the prickly texture that sort of gave my goosebumps if I stared at it for too long. I really wanted to make the purchase and I'm not sure why. The world is really divided into two types of people: people who would Buy rugs and those who wouldn't. I'm starting to slip into the first category and I'm a little concerned.

I refuse to buy rugs. There, I said it. It's official.
