While waiting for the bus the other day, three men in the front seat of a truck yelled something racist to me. "Kung hei fat choiiiii" (yes, emphasis on the choiii, the most asian sounding of the three words for greatest effect, I'm assuming). I was really pissed! In my head I thought of so many great comebacks like flippin the bird, or swearing... something to that effect... but seeing that I was completely alone, plus the coward factor, AND my completely unreliable defense mechanism of "surf and turf" while yelling "NO" loudly (thanks curik), I opted for the safer option of just standing there like an idiot. Think back on it, I think silence was the best comeback. Yes, they were three grown men in their late twenties yelling elementary school remarks to a 17 year old girl, during their full-time job of delivering mattresses to Leon's. Enough said. I win.
